How do I play?

Swipe one crystal one square up, down, left, or right to swap it with the crystal beside it. Make an edge-connected group of three or more matching crystals to break it. Broken crystals reveal clue letters behind the board; use the clues, powerups, and revealed letters to solve each board.

How do Letter, Shuffle, and Zap work?

Letter reveals one unrevealed answer letter. Shuffle rearranges the crystals. Zap starts at the selected square and follows a random five-square adjoining chain, revealing any clue letters it hits.

On Easy, every connected group of six or more awards one Letter. On Hard, qualifying groups alternate: the first awards one Letter, the next does not, and the sequence repeats. Every group of five or more independently has a 20% chance to award either one Shuffle or one Zap.

When a board is solved, each unused move adds one percentage point to the chance of earning one Letter. A board can award at most one Letter this way.

How do I change my Global Scores name?

Tap the crown above the score to open Global Scores. Tap the name field, type a first name or nickname, and press Enter on the keyboard or tap the Enter button. That is the entire setup.

Use Report beside an inappropriate public name. Use Hide when you do not want to see a player in your list.

What are paid Letter Credits?

When checkout is available, the optional App Store or Google Play product adds four Letter Credits. Each credit reveals one answer letter in Campaign. Using a paid Letter permanently marks that campaign Assisted; it remains playable, saved, and ranked in Global Scores with * beside its score. Earned Letter powerups are used first and do not mark a campaign Assisted. Android checkout is enabled through its audited service control; the iOS purchase remains unavailable until its App Store and TestFlight verification is complete. Existing balances, purchase synchronization, recovery, and refund processing remain server-authoritative.

How do I recover unused Letter Credits?

Open Settings > Letter Credits, save the private recovery key before purchasing, and use Recover Existing Credits after reinstalling or changing phones. The key restores only the unused paid-credit wallet. It does not restore campaign progress, Global Scores identity, or cooldown history.

A purchase completed, but my balance did not change

Keep the app open briefly, then choose Sync Purchases in the Letter Credits window. Do not buy the pack again while a purchase is still syncing. If the credit still does not appear, contact support with the app version, approximate purchase time, platform, and a redacted App Store or Google Play order reference if one is available. Do not send payment-card details or the complete recovery key.

Why are paid Letter Credits paused for review?

The App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat may have reported a refund or revocation, or the purchase ledger may need review. Choose Sync Purchases once. If the notice remains, contact support with the app version, platform, and a redacted store order reference if available. The balance will never be made negative, and an already-Assisted campaign keeps its Global Score *.

What happens when I lose a life or restart a level?

Every life lost deducts 10,000 points. Your score cannot fall below zero. Choosing Restart Level counts as one lost life: it discards points earned during the abandoned attempt, keeps any life penalties already charged on that board, and deducts the same 10,000-point penalty for the restart. Revealed clues, tools, and guess progress are preserved.

Three restarts of the same board in 24 hours pause only that Campaign difficulty for 24 hours; Daily and the other Campaign difficulty remain playable. Reinstalling or clearing app data may also remove local campaign continuity.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings and choose Delete All while connected to the internet. On iOS, uninstalling alone may leave a Keychain-backed recovery key for a later reinstall, so use Delete All for confirmed removal. Delete All does not erase provider records already retained by Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, or Sentry. For full details or deletion without app access, use the Crystal Clues deletion page.

How do I request deletion of diagnostic data?

Email crystalclues.support@gmail.com with enough information to identify the relevant diagnostic or support issue. Do not include unrelated private information.
